Africa faces its Destiny .

Masks are fundamental in perpetuating knowledge, aspirations, and dreams alongside their aes- thetic, spiritual, and psychological functions. Knowledge was inscribed in a writing system on them and other objects of material culture, making this heritage the seat of history and memory. A mask is not only considered by its appearance and role in ceremonies. It also extends the ancestors' soul, body, and voice. It is, therefore, knowledge of the world. Siriki Ky's sculptures recreate this world where gesture counts, and the body remembers. Using masks to construct new narratives and archives, Siriki signals the ancestors' return. He creates a space where soci- ety reconnects with heritage. His poetics forge new imaginaries and mythologies.
