We are now

Ten North Group, Formerly OLCDC

Building on
Our Powerful History

We opened our doors in 1980 with the vision in which under-resourced communities thrive when given equitable access to equal opportunities to enrich their lives and uplift their neighborhoods. And ever since, we have worked to make that vision a reality.

Over the last 40 years, OLCDC has been a leading force in shaping our community. Our comprehensive approach to community and housing development has helped us to become one of Florida’s largest and most respected CDCs (Community Development Corporations).

Every team member plays an essential role in accomplishing our community focused mission. Our Real Estate Development team helps to ensure that underserved communities will have access to places they can call home, Family Services gives those communities tools and support to stay in their homes, the financial Empowerment team helps many in our community understand the economics needed to thrive, the Community Fund gives our entrepreneurs and small businesses access to financial resources when many typical lenders do not. We are proud to give our community an authentic voice in the larger Art world while harnessing the power of art in their lives and futures. We are proud of our work and our history, and we are excited about our future.

Our New Name and Look

As we evolve, we must re-align the way we are perceived to stay current with who we have become and our strategic goals. By rebranding, we will better tell our growth story, reach a broader community, and more effectively position our services and authority as a mission-based, community-focused, real estate development organization.

Like our organization, our new name, Ten North Group, is firmly rooted in the story of Opa-Locka, a community that is often referenced as being “ten miles north of the City of Miami.”

Our new logo visually represents the story of weaving different resources, affiliates, and people together to create a stronger community. Each colored shape or "wedge" represents one of the focus areas of our organization. Wedges are often used to open up or create spaces where there have been none. This represents our efficacy in making space for representation, opportunity, and success for the communities we serve. When placed or zipped together, they become a much stronger icon, illustrating how our different affiliates and services weave together to create a stronger, more effective community.

Telling our Story

Our story is our brand, it lets everyone know who we are, what we do and most importantly why we do it. Every interaction we have with our stakeholders affects how people perceive our organization. Telling our story is  everybody’s job.  Every interaction a team member has or creates for a community member, a partner, a doner or a customer plays a part in enhancing or diminishing our brand.

We are proud of our accomplishments, let’s make sure everyone we interact with knows about the great work we do every day and about our mission to transform lives by providing equitable access to affordable housing and wealth-building opportunities for under-resourced Communities.

The rise in inequality in our under-resourced communities is a central problem that we are challenged to rethink.
